Basically, looking for a start point with this project and what would be the most effective way of achieving it.

I've attached an image of the outcome I'd like to achieve.
Barcode.jpg
I'll have a print out of all these barcodes and what I want to occur is that when I scan for example barcode 1 is it will fill out cell E2 and F2 (the name column will be a drop down menu) and then when I scan it a second time it will fill out G2 and H2.

The alternative way I was thinking was if I have a blank sheet and when I scan the barcode it will only fill in the ones scanned into the sheet as seen in the second image and display it how I have it in the image with the number in column A corresponding to the Item number and its representative barcode, however it would still require that the second time it is scanned it fills in Column G and H.

Any suggestions on what method would be more feasible would be greatly appreciated, along with any VB code to help get me started (been about 12 years since I last wrote in VB).

Thanks

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
So I've done a little research and come up with this so far, my issue is how I will get the barcode to do only columns E & F on first scan and H & J on second scan.
