I'm totally fascinated by this site... and I'm really trying to understand these formula equations. I have a question, and figuring this is probably very easy to all of you here, however I'm unfortunately not getting it. Does anyone know what formula can I use to get the total days from two dates? I am using the format 02/25/02. example: 02/25/02 subtracted from 04/02/02 (equals: 36)

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.

Sandy,

You can add, substract, average, etc the dates as you would ordinary numbers: So,

=B1-A1

where B1 is a later date than A1, will produce the desired diff in days. You need to format the cell of this formula as General though.

Thank you! I kept getting a date in the cell instead of a number. It worked, like you stated, whenever I formatted the cell to general. That's what I was looking for! Thanks again!
