I have created a very simple bar chart. The gap between bars is too wide and I want to reduce it.
I am aware about using Format Data Series - Gap Width to reduce gap. However it also reduces the width of bars.

Is there any option to reduce the gap between bars without altering their thickness?

I am using MS Excel 2013.
Thanks in advance

The only way to reduce the gap width without making the bars wider is to make the chart smaller. This makes the bars thinner and you can beef them up back to their original thickness by reducing the gap width.

Another way would be to add more empty values either before or after the bars. This way you can make the gap between the bars and the axis wider and make the gaps between the bars smaller.
