Will office 2016 open 2007 office files? And will my macros still work?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
.
For the most part ... Yes.

There are a few new features in 2016 that are not compatible. You'll need to look at the MS site for a list.

But that has no effect on whether Office 2016 can open & work with files created in Office 2007 - which it can do with no difficulty at all. The only compatibility issues arise when one uses features added after Office 2007, then try to open the files in that version; in that case the later features simply won't work.
