I have a query that sums all units for the months. I would now like to get an daily average of sales and a weekly average of sales. My first filed in the query is: Date By Month: Format$([EZRITEMSALES].[Date],'mmmm yyyy'). I would now like to create a field that tells me the number of days in this month (as February may vary from year to year). I can then divide the sum quantity for the month by the resultant number to give me a daily average, and again multiply this number by 7 to get a weekly average. Am I missing soemthing really basic here? Many thanks for your help!

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
This will give you the number of days in the month represented by the field PurchDate:

  • DaysInMonth: Day(DateSerial(Year([PurchDate]),Month([PurchDate])+1,0))
