Hi.

I have searched around the forum and tried to apply various functions to my range, but I can't seem to get it to work.

Problem: Average of values in a range of cells containing both strings and values. See picture.

Question: What is wrong with my formula?

Thanks for the time and help guys!

Hi,

There's nothing wrong with it, provided you commit it as an array formula**, i.e. with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER, not just ENTER.

Hey,

The LEFT function extracts a whitespace after the number so you'll have "3 " instead of "3" - take away an extra character and then re-try
