Hi all,

I am looking for help with a formula which allows me to ignore a specific word in the column.
for example; column contains different departments & Retail. I want to do an average of all excluding Retail.

I have used this formula to do average of only Retail. Now I need to do average of everything else combined.

=AVERAGEIF('Filled Roles'!,E2:E106,"RETAIL",'Filled Roles'!K2:K106)

thanks,

C_Hansen

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Welcome to Mr Excel,

Try

=AVERAGEIF('Filled Roles'!,E2:E106,"<>RETAIL",'Filled Roles'!K2:K106)

There looks to be an extra comma in there, try
=AVERAGEIF('Filled Roles'!E2:E106,"<>RETAIL",'Filled Roles'!K2:K106)
