I am sure there is a simple answer to this question. I need to find the average age of people by their gender. I have used this formula and each time just get #NUM !
Code:
=AVERAGEIF(B2:B696,"F",C2:C696)

Any help gratefully received

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Does #NUM! appear anywhere in C:C696?

Thank you so much, I knew it would be something stupid. Yes one of the lines had ~NUM!, corrected it and it is all working. Apologies for bothering people
