Hello to all,
Can one autosort on close a table in access ?
The table consists of 12 columns ..
Thank you

Excel Facts

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
When you open and a table and filter/sort it Access will prompt you if you want to save the table layout.

As far as I know that would include any sorting/filtering.

BTW Why do you want to do this?

Hello Norie,
There will be three operators working the invoicing system ...
The Customer List with addresses and all will be kept in an Access database that will be "linked" to all three computers using excell to write the daily invoices.... The excel sheet updates itself on open.
With this setup any of the three operators can add a new account in the database and it will be ref;ected in all three computers.

The autosort is important to the validation box all three operators use as we need to keep the list in ascending alphabetical order.

Good to know that it can also be done in access.
All the bes for the Holidays
Nick

BTW : any ideas from you are welcome.

Nick,

another option is to base the data entry on a QUERY that has all of the table fields. The query can be set up to filter any way you like, and shoudl refresh each time a record is completed.

Denis thanks a ton ... that takes care of my latest posting of this morning as well...(Merging...)
Not sure how to use the filters yet but what I did was create a new query with just the companies names and their gross purchases... discounts... and net.
While I was creating the query I chose "summary query" and put a check mark in all three (gross purchases... discounts... and net) and that did the trick.
Best regards,
Nick
