Hi there,

I am somewhat new to macros but getting better each day, much thanks to this forum. I have been fighting a macro for a while so I thought I should ask.

I would like a macro that autosaves the current workbook every 5 minutes without opening a dialog box or whatnot. Just as if they clicked the save button. However I do not want this to run if they have opened it in read only mode. As many users use the same log only the first would open it in editable mode so I do not want it to attempt to autosave if someone else has opened it in read only.

Or will the autosave just do nothing if its in read only mode. I just don't want a box popping up every 5 minutes saying "I am sorry this is a read only document would you like to save a copy" then next thing you know I have 432 copies of the workbook.

Thanks a ton!
