Hi All.

Since this morning, AutoSave button automatically added to my quick access toolbar.

This is just so inconvenient as I have been using the same shortcuts for 8+ years.
Alt+2 = Special Paste, Alt+1 = Format painter and so on...

Now excel decides to place this button to No1, and it is kicking off my whole setup.

I can right click on the button, and take off the Auto save button individually for each document.
Is there a way to stop excel adding anything to my quick access toolbar?

Should I disable the autosave feature all together?

Here you can see it:

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
I recently had something similar. The AutoSave appeared on Quick Access when I opened Excel 2016 after using an earlier version of Excel that I had installed on the same machine. Once I removed it though, it stayed gone until I again opened that old Excel version. Do you have multiple Excel versions installed on your machine?

Hi Peter.

No. I am using Office 2016.
I tried to google this behavior, and it seems that it is connected to each file. So if you disable it it won't appear to that file. However when I open a new file, it does. :(

Hopefully you will find a permanent solution but until then, would a work-around be to move AutoSave to the right hand side of the QAT so that your other items return to (& hopefully stay in) their old positions?

GENIUS!
Haha. It is so simple that I didn't even thought of it!

Thanks Peter.
