Hi out there can anyone solve this. I've done it before but can't figure where i'm going wrong!!!

I have a field on a form for a login id eg fletcr

I want another field on my form to automatically populate with the user name for this id.

Can anyone please help!!

Thanks

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Is your form being linked from a table or a query?

I find it easier to work from queries than with tables. But that is just me. I would then just create a query where the criteria would be what I entered in the form, and then it would automatically give me the name. I hope I made some sense.

Try this...

Asuming the first field is called LOGINID and the second LOGINCOPY....

Go to the properties of the LOGINID and set the "After Update" module to the following:

Private Sub LOGINID_AfterUpdate()
LOGINCOPY = LOGINID
End Sub

Every time the LOGINID changes, the LOGINCOPY field will also change. Hope that works.
