AutoNumber beginning with 22

Build a new table "By Entering Data". Use the field names ProductID, ProductDescription, and ProductPrice.

Go to design view saving the table as TABLE1. and set ProductID data type to AutoNumber.

Save the table and view in Datasheet view. When you enter a product, the AutoNumber begins with 22. WHY??????????

Hi Bill
I can't answer why but a 'compact & repair' should reset the value to 1 if there is no data in the table.
