Since this is my first question on Mr. Excel, I thought I would make it a doozie lol.

I am trying to convert a macro written for 32-bit Excel that feeds data into the IBM AS400 mainframe. I have read articles like the one found here which state that the issue I am having is "....a permanent restriction as IBM Personal Communications only provides 32-bit Automation objects", but I refuse to give up. There has to be some way to connect to the AS400 using 64-bit Excel and pass data through a macro without resorting to using 32-bit office. Please, somebody, show me the way. Thanks!!

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
shg, that is what I am trying to not have to do. There must be some other bit of VBA that will get me around the issue that I am having.

Declare PtrSafe Sub Sleep Lib "kernel32" (ByVal dwMilliseconds As Long)
Public autECLSession As Object
Public autECLPS As Object
Public autECLOIA As Object
Sub claimsNettingAuto()

'-----------------------------------------------------------------
'
'-----------------------------------------------------------------
Dim autECLPS As Object
Dim autECLConnList As Object
Dim FieldElement As Object

'-----------------------------------------------------------------
'Set up connection to AS400
'-----------------------------------------------------------------
Set autECLSession = CreateObject("pcomm.auteclsession") *********** this is where my code is erroring out
Set autECLPS = CreateObject("Pcomm.auteclps")
Set autECLOIA = CreateObject("Pcomm.autecloia")
Set autECLConnList = CreateObject("Pcomm.auteclconnlist")

Not sure why you would disbelieve IBM's stated limitation and suggested workaround.
