Hi
How can I use the value of one cell to automatically pick the value, from a list, in another cell?
Sorry if this is a bit of a basic question. I'm a bit of a novice and struggling to find the answer to this in any other threads.
Cheers

Hi T
Thanks for that. Had looked at VLOOKUP and although I'm no expert at it, I didn't think it would work because I'm not looking up the 'Leftmost' column.

I'm looking at say, Cell X2 and if this is Y then I want to automatically pick a specific answer from a designated 'List' of answers in several related cells on that same row?

I'm I getting it wrong? Can VLOOKUP help here or do I need to do something else?

Be more specific.

When you say "pick", does that mean you want to select something from a drop down menu (list)?

What cells do you want to "pick" from?

Do you need help in populating these "pick lists" ?

Hi Biff
Sorry.
All cells are 'drop-down list cells'.

So cell X2 has a drop-down list of Yes or No.
Cells Y2,Z2,AA2,AB2 etc have other drop-down lists, each column having different drop-down list values except for one shared value e.g 'Not Recorded'.

So if X2 has a value of 'No'. How can I make all the other cells in Row 2 select 'Not-Recorded' from the various Drop-Down lists?

Really appreciate your help!

Sounds like you want dependent lists...
