Automatically Change Row Color Based on Cell Input

I am looking for a way to automatically change the color of a row based on the content in a specific cell. For example:

- the default color of any row is white
- if content is added to cell A2, the color changes to red
- if content is added to cell B2, the color changes to green
- if content is added to cell C2, the color changes to white

The cells and the colors are less important than, presumably, the formula needed to create such a functionality.

Excel Facts

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
I think you will need to use conditional formatting.

We would need a example of what value requires what cell to be colored what color.

I am working with sensitive data, so I cannot give exact information. However, the most common color change will happen when a date is entered into a cell. Using my previous example as a reference, the date would be formatted, for example, 15-Jan. When the date is entered within cell A2, the entire row turns red, etc. Please let me know if this does not make sense.

Create a mockup example, it's not difficult.
Then someone will provide a solution and you can modify it to your actual spreadsheet.

You cant attach files on this forum. There are tools on this forum for adding small spreadsheet images

Or upload the file to an online storage site and post a link to it, though some people may not download the file for fear of viruses.

Your original post said:
if content is added to cell A2, the color changes to red
- if content is added to cell B2, the color changes to green
- if content is added to cell C2, the color changes to white

But in your last post you said Entire row color changes.

So you only gave three examples.

What happens if G23 has a value entered what color does that entire row turn

Or H45 or M23

Thank you all for your feedback. The entire row should change colors, not just the individual cell. Going from left to right, content in a specific cell further to the right within a row would take precedence. So, for example, content in C23 would take precedence over content in A23. Content in another does not affect the color of another row. Therefore, using your example, content in H45 would not affect the color in the preceding or subsequent rows.

I am working right now, but I will do my best to create a little mock up in a few moments.

I have a sample file to upload, but I do not have admin rights to install add-ons or programs. Could I simply take screen shots of what I am looking for and then test any formulas that are suggested?

I cannot post a link in the other site.

While I understand the restrictions, I was asked to provide a sample file, but I cannot do that because of the lack of admin privileges I have. Can I simply show screen shots via imgur?
