Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask whether it is possible to connect an Excel file with another: one contains a Trial Balance and will automatically connect the appropriate numbers based on the related codes of the TB to another Excel file.
For example, the "Main File" will have certain cells such as:
Line 600: 61.00 X
Line 650: 62.00 Z
Line 700: 63.00 Y
Where 61.00, 62.00 and 63.00 belong to a different column.
Where X, Z and Y are numbers and belong to a different column.
The Trial Balance, will also have the same codes, but in different lines, for example:
Line 603: 61.00 50,000.00
Line 786: 62.00 35,000.00
Line 899: 63.00 150,000.00
The target is for the "Main File" to identify column A with the codes (61.00, 62.00, 63.00) and link the corelated numbers of X, Z and Y to 50,000.00, 35,000.00 and 150,000.00.
I have done this in the past in Access. However, I was unsucesful on achieving my goal due to my lack of Access skills. Afterwards, the need for it was depleted, so it was left behind along with the little knowledge I had in Access.
Alternatively, this should be done in Excel, it would be much more convenient if feasable.
Any suggestions are welcome, thank you in advance!
