I am trying to have an AutoFilter column that can identify data seperated by commas.

e.g.
one cell contains 'red, pink, new york, boston' and another cell contains 'london, blue, red'

1) I want it so that you can choose 'red' in the header and both rows are shown and if you choose 'boston' only the first is.

2) if possible, it would be nice to be able to somehow put 'red, boston' to only get the rows that contain both. But I don't know how to do this without having all possible combinations listed.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Click on the AutoFilter, select CUSTOM.

Show rows where:
Contains: red
AND / OR
Contains: boston
