Hi, I'm no Wiz with Sheets but In my head this should be doable. First of what I need:
I work at sea and our governing authority needs to see our hours of work afloat/rest/work ashore.

What we have currently at work is a table to fill in by hand. It has 7 days. Each day is split into half hour segments. We then add a V if we are working in a Vessel, W if we are doing Work ashore and R if we are resting.

We then leave each week/worksheet in a folder so it can be viewed by an inspector at any time.

I have a dream of being able to use Google forms to log when I go afloat and come ashore and when I am working ashore and finish.

I was going to simplify the V,W,R by using colours.

My confusion is how I colour in the correct cells based on the two times. Bearing in mind I might go afloat for 6 two hour periods in 24 hours with another 3 hour working ashore in there randomly.

I can share a picture of our current manual sheet if I've confused you!

Many thanks
