I'm trying to use Excel for software requirements and would like to have some kind of multilevel series of ID's, like 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.
I'm much of a Excel rookie but will probably understand code.
I would like the series to auto increment based on some kind of level/indent/outdent, so if the series starts with 4, the next will be 5. If it starts indented like 4.1 the next must be 4.2. Also 4 levels is a requirement, like 1.1.2.3
Is this a feature in Excel like it is in Word 2010? Writing my own code, function or macro is too hard for me.
