Auto generate sequential purchase order numbers?

Hi there,

Thank you in advance, and my apologies if my explanation isn't quite clear but I am not too sure how to do this in excel.
I have created a internal purchase order template, and I need it to generate a new sequential purchase order number each time the workbook is opened & saved.
I am using excel 2007.
I have a Master sheet, and the cell that I need the purchase order numbers to go into is merged. Not sure if this poses a problem. The cell reference is mno3 (merged).
The number I would like it to start from is 00001, then 00002 and so on.

Suggestions and help would be very much appreciated.
