Audit Trails

Hi,

I wonder whether anyone can help me?

I have a folder which contains multiple .pdf files and i want to create an Audit Trail which will trigger whenever one of the files is opened, writing to a text file, recording the the name of the file, username of the person accessing it and the date/time opened.

I have written audit trails before, within excel, activated by a specific Event but do not know whether it's possible to do the same with .pdf's or against the folder itself?

Any help/advice would be welcome
