Attaching a large number of .xlsm & .xlsb files to SharePoint

I need to query a large number of users on a network to audit Excel files with macros. I am worried that the influx of a large number of large files might incapacitate this SharePoint functionality.

It seems the upper limit for a SharePoint list attachment is 250 mb per file.

My educated guess is...

200 users might attach 400 files up to 50 mb each. (That 50 mb number is probably wildly exaggerated to be safe.) Is SharePoint going to puke under this pressure, or is the scaleability there for this?

If there is a better forum for this query please let me know.

Thanks in Advance
