Attach PDF file into excel sheet. Office for Mac

Hi guys!

I am trying to figure out how to attach a pdf file into my excel worksheet as a reference but i am afraid i have no more ideas as everything i tried failed...
I have a workbook to issue invoices and i would like to attach the corresponding pdf file of the invoice next to the data in my excel sheet. Is there a way to do it ?

I tried the Insert->Object->From File-> but it won't work. Any ideas ?
Moreover not even the hyperlink works...when i try to open the hyperlink i get an alert "Cannot open the specified file"

you can put the path of the pdf in a cell...
c:\folder\myfile.pdf

then use the code below to open it. (the code opens anything)
paste this code into a module. (ctl-F11, insert , module)
Then it will open ANY file via its extension....
.pdf files will open in acrobat,
.doc files in word
etc

USAGE:
OpenNativeApp "c:\folder\file.xls"
'opens in excel
or
OpenNativeApp field
'opens item in field in native app

Ookkkk...i will need some help here...

First of all i am using mac with osx el capitan and excel for mac 15

When i insert the path, nothing actually happens...should i hyperlink it ?
Moreover, i didn't exactly get where to insert the code provided...please excuse me but i am a newbie
