I have an issue where my company got into the habit year's ago of denoting discontinued product with an astericks in our product description field. Management do not want this changed.

This is an issue for me.

Is there a way where I can use the astericks in a formula where only an astericks appears within the description and is not treating as a wildcard that will return everything ? Some kind of work-around ?

Thks

Hi,

Insert a tilde ( ~ ) in front of the asterisk (i.e. ~* ) would tell Excel you're looking for the literal asterisk and Not using a wildcard.
