Good morning to everybody, and sorry in advance for my poor knowledge of Excel.
I think my problem is not very hard to solve, I've searched a lot on Google but I can't find some formulas right for me...or maybe I'm not able to apply that formula to my spreadsheet.
This is the problem:
_ I' ve a column of eight values in C2:C9
_ I need to assign points to these values, from the higher to lower value, points from 8 for the higher to 1 for the lower.
_ This points have to appear in cells C:14:C21
_ Note that I'm using Excel Mac 2011, but if there are problems with this version I can also use a Windows version of Excel.
Here below an image of my spreadsheet with the points inserted manually:
situation 2, the only of my columns where the assignation of the points goes reverse: highest value 1 point, lower 8:
In the second example you can see that when I've got ex-aequo, the points i'ts assigned with this order:
ex aequo first, second and third = points assigned 8-8-8
non ex-aequo fourth 5 points
ex aequo fifth and sixth = points assigned 4-4
non ex-aequo seventh 2 points
non ex-aequo eight 1 point
but...if this ex-aequo system is impossible to realize, I accept different ideas, the most important thing is that I've not to assign the points manually every week!
I hope someone can help me soon, thanks a lot
