Arrange images in word in a grid pattern with file name underneath

Hi all,

I would like to arrange a bunch of images (same dimension) in a grid formation with enough space between them to cut the printed page into individual images.

I also the most important part is that the file name of the image (no need for the format to be included) must be visible under each image. Exactly like a contact sheet.

There are loads of free contact sheet makers out there but they reduce the quality of the print and also the sizes of the images get distorted based on the number of images I want in each page.

MS Word uses images with their original size dimension & the clarity of the images has been the best. I tried image viewers & contact makers like Irfanview, Faststone, LView Pro, Kodak DCS, etc., but none of them worked as well as the a the simple MS Word. If any of you know of any free contact sheet maker which doesn't compromise on the quality of the images what so ever (FYI, I even tried with insane values of DPIs) Please let me know and I am willing to try them out.

This may be possible only through a VBA, or even without that. Anything would help. The images to be included into the word document will all be available in one folder.

Thanks

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
This thread has been moved to the General Excel Discussion forum, as it relates primarily to Word and not Excel.

If the image names are in a list, you could use a label merge to insert both the images and their names into the labels.
