Apportion project in months across year columns

Hi

i need to apportion our projects (ie the no of months it was live across a range of years) so i can then apportion the turnover.
I'm stuck at the calculating months end.

eg a2 = start date , b2 = end date

in columns c - g i have the years - 2005, 06, 07, 08, 09

project X runs from jun 06 to may 08

so my result would be

2005 06 07 08 09
0 6 12 5
