Good day all,

is there a way to mimic this in access, as it works so well in excel?
I can not figure it out

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Mike,
my understanding was that DoCmd.Echo was the equivalent of application.screenupdating ? Am I wrong?

in excel, I use application.visible=false to completely hide the excel application/window from the taskbar and from screen, only letting the userform displayed; will DoCmd.Echo work the same in access, and let only my startup form displayed?

sorry in advance for naive question, just beginning in access

In Access you can hide the database window as a startup option.

Tool>StartUp... then deselect "Display Database Window"

The window can still be called up using F11 but this can be turned off usingthe Advanced Option Special keys.

Thanks Peter for your input,
I actually already use my DB as an *.mde, and have setup the "display stuff"; but I still have the main Access application window on screen, and what I would like is to have only my startup form displayed

any other idea?

Oops, looks like I completely misunderstood your question.
Bat17's given you the right answer.

Yes, DoCmd.Echo False does do exactly what you thought it did.
