I just got Office 2010. It now includes Microsoft OneNote. My partner swears by it, but because of the sensitive nature of his job, he can't really show me how it works.

Anyone here use this program that could direct me to a good teaching website or recommend a good class on this program? I think I could use it, but I'm really not seeing how it works.....

Apologies to the mods if this isn't posted in the correct place....

Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
OneNote is one of those apps that sort of falls between the cracks. I love it and use it once or twice a week. When I worked for a big corp. my pleas to get it went unheeded since it wasn't part of our corporate licensing agreement with MS.

When I installed it at home I just sort of had to poke around and learn it. I probably don't use half it's power. As Smitty said, there's quite a bit of info already inside OneNote when you open it up.

OneNote doesn't really fall into a single bucket. It's versatile and integrates well with Office and your web browser.
I'm just scratching the surface but have used it for...
Outliner. Really useful for creating outlines. You can collapse, expand, move.
Screen capture. Send a web page to OneNote and it will clip an image of the page, along with the hyperlink and date.
Collaboration. If a group of you are working on something (eg, teachers putting together a curriculum) everyone can add their notes in the one place.

And there's plenty more.
