I have an issue, I am asking here because you all are super smart about excel (part of my issue) and I am sure several of you probably use Crystal as well.

My issue is that Crystal Reports XI (new installation) will not connect with any of my Microsoft Excel, Access, etc files. It also would not use a CSV text file. When I try to set up the database connection to any of these types of files, I get an error.

Logon failed. Details: Error Code: 0x800401f3

I have researched this error on the internet to no avail. None of it seems related to my issue. I also submitted a tech ticket to Business Objects to which I got a reply of "Crystal Reports XI works best with ODBC Connections" at which point they had info on setting up an ODBC connection to Excel files. I did this and it does not work either.

I have also sent these same excel files to other PCs which have CRXI installed and I have no problems using them with CRXI on these other machines. So I uninstalled and reinistalled CRXI on my machine and still no go. I am honestly starting to believe there may be an windows or Office 03 issue on my PC.

I am just wondering if any of you have had this issue and how you fixed it? or perhaps someone knows something about how CRXI database expert connects to Office documents and can perhaps point me in a direction that might help me figure out what is wrong with my setup.

Thanks!
