Anybody here into hacking dvd player region code?

I won this dvd player in a christmas party raffle the other day, brand is LG, model is DVX-171. It is regional code 1. I want it to be multi region. I tried to search the net and luckily there is a hack on this model

I can not get it to work.

Anybody happened to have tried this or knows how to do it?
