I am slightly distressed at the accuracy of MS Excel's regression tool. I use several statistical analysis tools (SAS, Stata, SPSS) and when I run the same regression in each tool I find a slight difference in my models depending upon the tool (but not enough to quibble about). When I run the same regressions in Excel I find a much greater distortion in the regression. Often Excel is a convienient tool to get a quick and dirty look at a model but given the lesser accuracy it is insufficient for any sort of policy or research work.

has anyone else run into this issue?

Also, I dont have Excel 2010...is the analysis tool any better there?
