Hi folks,
I'm having problems setting up Allow Edit Ranges.
Regardless of what I do, once I protect the worksheet the user is requested to enter the password even though the user has permission to 'Edit range without a password'.
The user name is selected from a data validation list on another worksheet.
How is the link made between the username selected from the dropdown list and the user I gave that permission to?
Should I be entering the username in a specific way in the worksheet so that the system recognises it?
I've read extensively on how to set this up but I cannot get it to work.

If you require any more information let me know.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
How are your permissions set up in the Cell formatting of the Range that users are allowed to Edit?

Hi Skyybot,
firstly let me apologise for my very late response. The plant was on shutdown and I had some extra leave.
The user that should be able to edit the range is set up to "Allow" "Edit range without a password".
