I was performing some edits today ... creating a new macro for a worksheet to run when that sheet is activated.

Strange thing occurred ... I noticed that a graphic object on that sheet that had an assigned macro no longer functioned. I right clicked on the graphic object and noticed that there was no macro assigned. Very strange. Upon further examination, I noticed that every graphic object on every sheet in the workbook no longer had the previously assigned macro assigned. All gone!.

I have no idea what would cause that. I need to now go back to my prior copy and one-by-one re-assign macros to each object.

Does anyone have any idea why this would happen. I certainly would like to prevent this occurrence in the future.

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
What is the file format? Is it possible that you have saved the file as XLSX (no-macro)?

Is the code for the macros still in the workbook? Or just the assignments have gone?

File format is xlsm. All macros intact and the function fine. Only the assignments to graphic objects are gone. I have made re-assignments now. Took about 15 minutes ... not a biggie. But very strange.
