Hopefully this is a quick one that eludes me merely because I'm relatively new.

Is there a way to give the pivot results aliases for the field and measure names its showing? I'm noticing that as I build measures into my model that relate to each-other, the naming scheme that makes sense for me to keep things straight doesn't result in 'user friendly' names (at least they are not user-friendly for people who aren't 'under the hood'). If I want to make my model an analysis tool that will be useful for others, it would be great to be able to use 'plain English' aliases for these measures.

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Tytalus,

You can alias the measure in the current Pivot either by over-typing the name in the cell or in 2010 by typing the name in the 'Customer Name (this PivotTable)' in the measure box. I don't think the second option is available in 2013.

This is OK where you are going to present someone with a particular PIVOT as the name is retained even if they move the field out of the PIVOT and then back in. The problem comes where they create a new PIVOT!

The way I deal with this is to give my measures somewhat comprehensible names while I put the extra detail in the description, the advantage of this is that when the cursor hovers over the measure in the field list this description is displayed to the user.
