[/B]I do not condone or condemn his sexuality but he was so badly mistreated. I think that many of us owe
something to Alan in what we do professionally without realising it. A programmer that could do with bits with what most of us do struggle to do with programming languages was something second to none3.

Certainly a different mindset from today's age.

Kind of interesting to compare what happened to him and the hoopla in the news lately about Phil Robertson's comments.

Not to equate the two in terms of severity by any means, but regardless interesting to study how society's norms and values change, in a relatively short period of time.
