Hi,

I have been programming on/off in VBA for a couple months now and have learned a lot through this board. In terms of learning VBA, besides work-related projects, most of what I have learned is through reading this board and answering questions.

My question now is what is the next step? I would love to get a lot better at working with VBA, and most of what I have read is just plugging away with things on this board. Any other suggestions would be great.

But, furthermore, I was looking as to what are the next logical steps in terms of programming? Is there a langauge that I should learn next SQL, .Net? What would make the most sense?

Thanks.

It depends where you're headed. SQL is definitely useful; you can integrate SQL and VBA when building queries in Excel or Access. And it never hurts to have some database skills.

If you work mostly on the desktop VBA will probably do you for a while. Some .Net knowledge is not a bad thing; if you have a VB background take a look at VB.Net -- you can download a free Express version from the MS site, and there are plenty of tutorials. If your interests extend to Web development you can take SQL and VB.Net together, and leverage them in to ASP.Net

Just one possibility...
