I am so sorry, I really don’t know where I have to put this question…

I am working as Application Developer for VBA and VB Script.
I have 2 yrs Experience in this platform.
Presently I am Working in a Small IT Development Center.

To Develop my Skills, to enter in some named concern how can I develop myself.

Which platform is better for me, JAVA or .NET (As per career prospectus).

I have knowledge of C, C++, VC++, Oracle but don’t have any experience.

please, I am waiting for your valuable advice.

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
That depends entirely on what you want to do and where you want to work. If you plan to work with MSOffice, I would say .Net.

It's almost impossible to avoid Visual Studio .NET if you're developing for the Windows desktop.

I agree with Rory - this is an almost impossible question to answer, especially without more information.

Probably the most important factor is what you are trying to do.

I don't think Java is the way to go, and I'm confused why you've mentioned 3 different versions of C.

PS You are missing at least one there - C#, might be others.:)

C++ / VC++ - Same thing, you won't need this unless your developing games or windows applications.

Totally depends on the job you want to do.

One advantage of .NET is that you shouldn't be *too* lost because VB.NET at least has a similar syntax to VBA, even if the language is diverging and picking up new features.
You can also use C# in .NET, and in many cases it seems to be the preferred language.

If you go this way, pick up one of the free Express versions to get you started.
