I am trying to use Excel to help me to calculate the molar mass of chemical compounds. I would like it so I can basically type =SUM(Hydrogen*2,Oxygen) and get the molar mass of 18.02.
I have the whole periodic table in Excel. The Elements are in Column A and their Molar Masses are in Column B.
How would I get this to work?

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Highlight your elements and molar masses, but not any heading columns.

Press CTRL+SHIFT+F3

It should pop up with only "Left" checked.

Click ok, and have fun.
