If someone can help if they are not getting what i want i can post the xcel sheet iam working with but i dont know how to attach the file here.

I think you're looking to use a custom format of [h]:mm:ss

Mine is Windows XP, excel 2007 Version.

Yes my cell format is custom hh:mm, but what i want is to sum the total time take for eg it will take 36 hours from a to b and the time between stations are given as i have shown in my earlier post but when iam summing it up now the time is within 23 hours and 59 minutes its showing it up well, once the time crosses 24 hour mark its showing the sum as 1:01,2;01,3:01 rather than showing 25:01, 26:01, 27:01 ...... so on and so forth.

Not format hh:mm, format [h]:mm

I think its probably best to revive this thread rather than create a new one.

My problem is that the custom format of [h]:mm is not doing what it is supposed to. I am instead getting the following;

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" height="132" width="170"><col style="mso-width-source:userset;mso-width-alt:2998;width:62pt" width="82"> <col style="mso-width-source:userset;mso-width-alt:3218;width:66pt" width="88"> <tbody><tr style="height:15.75pt" height="21"> <td class="xl65" style="height:15.75pt; width:62pt" align="center" height="21" width="82">DAILY</td> <td class="xl66" style="border-left:none;width:66pt" width="88">CUMULATIVE</td> </tr> <tr style="height:15.75pt" height="21"> <td class="xl69" style="height:15.75pt;border-top:none" align="center" height="21">07:15</td> <td class="xl71" style="border-top:none;border-left:none" align="center">295:15</td> </tr> <tr style="height:15.75pt" height="21"> <td class="xl69" style="height:15.75pt;border-top:none" align="center" height="21">07:35</td> <td class="xl71" style="border-top:none;border-left:none" align="center">600:26</td> </tr> <tr style="height:15.75pt" height="21"> <td class="xl69" style="height:15.75pt;border-top:none" align="center" height="21">07:45</td> <td class="xl71" style="border-top:none;border-left:none" align="center">896:11</td> </tr> <tr style="height:15.75pt" height="21"> <td class="xl69" style="height:15.75pt;border-top:none" align="center" height="21">08:09</td> <td class="xl71" style="border-top:none;border-left:none" align="center">1201:56</td> </tr> <tr style="height:16.5pt" height="22"> <td class="xl70" style="height:16.5pt;border-top:none" align="center" height="22">05:06</td> <td class="xl72" style="border-top:none;border-left:none" align="center">1495:02</td> </tr> </tbody></table>

...what the hell has happened here?

I've ran into the same issue as quoted above. My AUTOSUM works fine until it gets passed 24 total. So I've tried the custom format's I've located on the internet and even the one outline on the Microsoft website.

[hh]:mm;@
also tired [hh]:mm

whenever I use those brackets (which is suppose to be the solution) it get enormous numbers as shown above with the set of my numbers. I can't figure out why this is so....

I know this is an old thread but I just ran into this issue. Any suggestions?
