It's simple, but first you have to make sure that your data is sorted by what you want to subtotal.
So I choose one cell in the Product column.
Data, click A-Z.
So that way all the Apples are together and all the bananas are together.
Far right hand side of the Data tab: go to Subtotal.
At each change in Product, that's right.
Use the Sum function and choose Sales.
You could page break between groups if you want.
You can even put the subtotals above the data.
Click OK.
There we are, they've added a subtotal for Apple, Banana, and a Grand Total at the bottom.
If you want to see just the subtotals, click the number 2 button over here.
