Hi Folks,

I have used the custom ui xml to create a custom ribbon, however when I select the options to add macros, the main menu does not show the ribbon name that was created.

How do I go about inserting the ribbon once the ribbon has already been created?

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Sorry, but I think you have to give more details, and maybe a couple of screen-shots, to explain what you want.

Hi Glenn,

Thank you for your response.

The ribbon I have created looks like this:
Epoch Ribbon.JPG

In order to allocate a macor to the icons one would go to the main menu and place them under the listed tab (i.e.Epoch) however Epoch does not show in the main menu (see below)

Hang on, you've used customui xml to create ribbon ... how is it that you didn't specify the macros at that stage? That is the normal thing to do.

Hi Glen,
Thanks for the response. I used the customertome UI xml and when I wanted to include macros - I realised the challenge i am faced with. I cannot do that unless it is in the main menu

Do you have a set of instructions for whatever you did with the custom UI processing you did? Then say how much and how closely you followed those instructions.

Hi Glen,
Thank you for your reply. The process I followed is quite simple. It was simple coding and step by step I added lines to the code to give me a final result.

I used the assistance of a you tube video

So what did you as per CallBack being changed to whatever macro at 15:46 ish on the video? That is where the instructions are for assigning the macro.

Thank you for your feedback and indicating where the actions pertaing to the icons in the ribbon should be stated.

That is however not the problem I am currently faced with.

The problem is that when you slect the customise ribbon the drop down does not show the ribbon name EPOCH and thus when I want to place macros, using the curomise ed ribbon option it does not allow me too. I need to get thename with the ribbon presented showing in the main menu.

You can add standard excel options within the XML and it will function as a normal ribbon item.
Here is the current standard. Also, there are files out there excel spreadsheets with all the options listed within as well as images and the msoImage strings. I just can't remember where I found them to point you there. :( Below is a sample...
XML:
          <mso:menu id="ExportMenu" label="Export" imageMso="ExportMoreMenu" size="large">
            <mso:menuSeparator id="ExportMicrosoft" title="Export to Office" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportAccess" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportExcel" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportWord" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportSharePointList" />
            <mso:menuSeparator id="ExportOdbc" title="Export to ODBC" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportOdbcDatabase" />
            <mso:menuSeparator id="ExportFlatFiles" title="Export to flat files" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportTextFile" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportHtmlDocument" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportXmlFile" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportSavedExports" />
            <mso:menuSeparator id="ExportISAM" title="Export to ISAM" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportDBase" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportParadox" />
            <mso:button idMso="ExportLotus" />
            <mso:menuSeparator id="ExportSnapshot" title="Export as PDF" />
            <!-- <mso:button idMso="ExportSnapshot" /> -->
            <mso:button idMso="PublishToPdfOrEdoc" />
          </mso:menu>
