Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
In design view, why can you not
designate the field as date/time?

Then
below frame, state something like now() or whatever time you want?

Not sure if I am understanding.

If the field type is Date/Time, go to the field in the table's Design view.
Select the field in the top section.
In the Properties section below, there is a line called Default Value.
In that line enter =Now()
Every new record now gets the current date and time. Is that what you needed?

Hi, why have you formatted this field as text? Is there a reason for this? If the format is text are you able to input characters (as opposed to numbers) into this field? For example, can you enter something like ab:cd:ef?

OK -- not sure why you used text but there's a workaround.

Build a query with the StartText and EndText fields, plus whatever else you need -- names, etc.
In the first blank column in the query's Design view, paste this expression:
TimeUsed: CDate([endText])-CDate([startText])
Right-click in the field (still in Design view), select the Properties, and set the Format to hh:nn:ss

Adjust field names to suit.
That should do the job for you
