Hi All,

I have this worbook where I have several account numbers located in a row and they are separated by category and within the category by commas. I am trying to either use a SUMIF formula or something thats efficient to pull those numbers from another tab in the workbook. I dont mind manually adding in the account number I want to pick up, but I'm having trouble with it. I attached a screenshot of the problem itself.

Thank you so much for your help in advance!!

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Your attachments don't really indicate what you want. Would you please use XL2BB to illustrate all the meaningful data?

You should have a table chart of accounts. Listing anything that way is contrary to basics of Excel.
With a table of accounts and their categories, you can use either an in-sheet function (XLOOKUP) to assign the category or use Get Data to join the tables. Summaries would then be done in a Pivot Table.
