Hello,

I have a very annoying issue that I am sure has an easy fix.

I have a file in which I must maintain records provided from another individual. Every day I receive updates and I copy and paste the columns of the file so that the rest of my file is updated as well; however, I also add comments to my file which are specific to a row of data provided. I find that when I copy and paste that information from the other individual it puts my comments out of place. In addition, I typically add comments when I have the data filtered because only certain rows need comments. Is there any way to avoid these two issues?

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Copy and paste is never good when you are dealing with large sets of data that a user is giving you. I would suggest building a form in Access/Excel/VB.NET that way YOU control how the data comes over to you. Then you can go in to each record and make your comments. This would save you tons of time as well because users would input the data instead of trying to keep track of it and then send it to you, then you input it, blah blah blah blah...... Make sense?
