Hi,

I am looking to create a graph with bars coming off a line graph and I was wondering about how to go about it.

I want the bars to start at the point on the line graph and move up or down to the value given.

For example

Say my values on the line graph are

25, 15, 17, 28 and 30

one of my other data columns is 2, 4, 3, 6 and 7

For the first point on my graph I want a bar to come out of 25 at point one and go up to 27. Second bar to come out of 15 and go to 19

I also have a second set of data where I would want the bar to go down from the point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Error Bars in Excel Charts

  • Make your graph of just your data points.
  • Right-click on any data point on the graph and select Format Data Series from the pop-up menu
  • Select the X-error bars tab
  • Under the Custom error amount, you can define a cell range for both the plus and minus error amounts.
