I have a Drop-down Comb-Box on a form that returns a list of selectable values from a query. I would like to add a non-selectable prompt to the top of the list (e.g.: <Select>). This is a required field. Thanks in advance for your help.

Not following you - can you elaborate a little?

Thank you,

Re: Adding a "<Select>" prompt to a Combo-Bo

I have a combo box that returns a list of ID numbers from a Query. The Combo box provides for the primary key for the underlying table. When a new record is opened, the combo-box is blank ( ComboBox1.listIndex = 0). When the ListIndex is 0, I would like to see “Select” displayed. I have seen this done before but I do not know how to do this.

Re: Adding a "<Select>" prompt to a Combo-Bo

Usually I use a UNION query in combination with a "Rank" field that I make up. So something like:

Select Field, Rank FROM myTable
UNION SELECT " < Select > ", 0 FROM myTable

Hope this helps,

Russell
