Addin macros stop working intermittently?

Hi all,

I moved all my macros to an addin that two separate workbooks use. I set up the references fine and didn't move the addin to the standard folder when asked as other people on the network will want to use it when this goes live.

It all worked fine, but intermittently the workbooks seem to lose their connection. The reference is still there but suddenly I get the 'automatic update of links has been disabled message' (there are no external links and that message never comes up apart from when the link to the addin breaks) and all the links to macros from autoshapes that I have now have the full network path instead of just the procedure name, and refuse to work unless I go through them all and remove the network path.

The error message I get when I try to click one of the autoshapes with the full network path is: 'The macros may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled.'

Has anyone experienced this before and can anyone offer any advice please? At the moment my only option is to ditch the idea of using an addin as I can't have the workbooks stop working intermittently! :eeek:

Thanks!
