add two records

I need to add two records to come up with an updated field value for one of the records.

Ex. Record 1 has Field 1, 2, 3, 4
Record 2 has Field 1,2,3,4. I need to add record 2 field 1 to record 1 field 2 to come up with a new value for record 1 field 4. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
